Is she 20?

On Sunday my mom says to Gavyn "I think I found you a girlfriend Gavyn". And Gavyn's reply was "Is she 20?" Keep in mind Gavyn is 5! That gave us all a good laugh!

Ding Dong, Who's There?

One day the kids where playing in the back yard, (well at least I thought they were). When suddenly the door bell rang. I wondered who it was because I wasn't expecting anyone. So I go and open the door and who is there? A little boy named Chase, yes my Chase, only he was butt naked! He took off all of his clothes, went through the side gate and came to ring the door bell. Hmmm, I wonder how many of our neighbors saw him nakey?

Night time conversation with Gavyn

I am in the living room, Gavyn and Chase are in there beds:

Gavyn yells to me: "Mommy Chase won't be quite"
Me to Chase: "Chase be quite"
Gavyn to me: "Mommy Chase is still not being quite, we need to throw him in the garbage."

What a nice big brother!

Bye Bye Wally

Wally had to go. Gavyn was allergic to him. The kids were very sad to see him go. I have to admit however that I was not. He drove me nuts. But I have to tell the story.

I had Wil take the kids away while we had a friend come pick up the piggy. The kids noticed early the next morning that he was gone. They were so sad. They thought he ran away. I wasn't sure what to tell them. Here are some things that Gavyn said as he was crying:
"I want my piggy back!"
"I want Jesus to help me find my piggy"
Angrily he says: "I am going to kick whoever stole my piggy!!!"

He laid in front of the shower crying while I was in there. It was very traumatic for him. So finally I had to explain that Wally went to Harold's house (they know who he is) Wally made Gavyn sick so he had to go. "But mommy, he can stay outback" That is a good idea however in the winter there is 5 feet of snow back there and he will freeze. So they understood. I ended up taking them to the dollar store to pick out some things to help them feel better. :)

Watching Rocky

My husband was watching the movie Rocky the other day and Gavyn was watching along with him. It was a fight seen and Rocky was fighting a colored man. Gavyn asked if that "muddy man" was winning. WHAT!?! He comes up with very creative things. I guess I have never really talked to him about colored people before.

Am I green?

My little Chasie likes to eat his boogies. I caught him the other day eating one and I asked him "Chase are you eating your boogers?" and Chase looked at me very concererned and said "Am I turning green?" I laughed so hard. I don't know where he got the idea that if he ate his boogies he would turn green.

Our new pet

This is Wally, our new little pot belly pig. Our family wanted a pet really bad but Gavyn is very allergic to cats and dogs. So we are trying the next best thing, a pot belly pig. He is almost 2 months old. He is not completly socialized yet but we are working on it. So far Gavyn has not had any reaction which is great! They are supposed to be great pets and good for people who have allergies.

The beautiful scooter

Gavyn asked me one afternoon if he could go play with Livia and Tate. Livia and Tate live right down the street from us and they play together often. Anyway, I asked Gavyn if he saw them because we were out front and Gavyn said "yes, I saw Livia and her beautiful scooter." That cracked me up!

Gavyn's Preschool Graduation

Gavyn had his preschool graduation on May 21st. It was so cute. They sang a friend song, a pirate song. They made pirate hats and parrots (pinned on his shirt) and a pirate necklace. At the end all the parents joined the kids in doing the chicken dance, it was alot of fun!
They also had a little award ceremony, where they were given thier "diploma" and a special award was made for each child. Gavyn's was the best rhymer because he is always rhyming words. His teachers said he would always be the first one to tell them which words rhymed and point our rhyming words in books.

His teachers were Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Dixon.

Chillin by the lake

Catching crawdads on Memorial Day

Gavyn got a black eye the day before, he fell out of the car and landed on his head and face. Ouch!

Chase, what are you eating?

We spent Memorial Day afternoon at the lake catching crawdads. We hung beef jerky on the end of a fishing pole. It was a very succesful crawdad day. I would say we caught about fifty. In the midst of us catching crawdads, I look over to see Chase chewing on something. There was no food nearby so I asked him what he was eating, he replied "beef jerky", I noticed the piece of beef jerky missing from the end of his pole!!! ACK!! He ate the jerky we had been catching crawdads with!!!!

Fishing at Kiabab Lake

Chase patiently waiting to catch a fish.

Fishing at Kiabab Lake

Here is a pic of Chase with one of the fish he caught.

Fishing at Kiabab Lake

We took a fishing trip to Kiabab Lake. We spent about 5 hours there between the kids and Wil they all caught about 25 fish. It was awesome. Gavyn and Chase both caught a ton of fish!

Chase's idea of vacation

We took a trip to Yuma and the kids had a ton of fun swimming. This is Chase resting with a Dorito in one hand and sucker in the other, watching TV. Now that is my kind of vacation!

Grand Canyon

We took a spontaneous trip to the Grand Canyon one day. Wil was working and had to go there so he asked if we wanted to come along. So we "went to work with daddy". The best part was since he was working we got in for free, that was really nice. On the way there we told the kids we were going to see a big hole in the ground. When we got there we said, "see the big hole?" and Gavyn says, "where is it?" I thought that was funny. They did really good. But I think they were more interested in all the beetles and squirrels we saw then seeing the Grand Canyon.

Fluffy

We were at the store and we saw a cute little girl who was a little over weight and Gavyn looks at her then tells me "Mommy, she's fluffy"

Mommy, what is this called?

Gavyn walked out of my room yesterday with my bra around his chest and asks "Mommy, what is this called?" and told him it was called a bra. He asked what it was for and I wasn't sure how to answer that. Then he said "is it to keep your boobies safe?" I laughed and said yes.
